We cooperate with Dimitris Maniatis, an organic Chestnut farmer, member of a traditional farming family passing on their love for this cultivation from one generation to the next. Castanea has become an inherent part of the landscape through the centuries, making it possible for it to grow without any agrochemical boosters. Social factors have been an important part of this meaningful cooperation. For several decades, people of Arcadia have been depending on Castanea for their annual income, including the Arachamites village inhabitants.

Castanea Arcadia was identified among the world’s top-performing natural antioxidants in the largest research on plants in recent years, AGROCOS. It was proven that Castanea leaves are a rich source of antioxidant compounds. We source these potent leaves from the Castanea farming sites of Arachamites — a bi-product that would else be discarded. Leaves are collected sustainably during summer months, without affecting the essential tree structure, and are dried naturally. Giving a second chance to by-products of a number of various cultivations is one of the greatest achievements of the KORRES Soil Lab.
